Soltyslabel is the result of mindful work, based around respecting raw materials of the earth.
Each piece is a conscious creation, an artwork to wear. All pieces are hand dyed and sewn in house personally by Cate as ritual practice, and take 1-2 days to complete.
Soltyslabel considers life to be a combination of rituals. The ritual of dressing has the potential to direct the presence of our human attention in a generative direction. Creating more awareness, more simplicity, and more depth within the human experience.
The act of dressing has become one of the deepest rituals I have ever come to know. Slowly over time it has developed into a personal art form and realm for explorative play. I want to share this finding with you through cloth.
With every item being individually crafted by hand, I have a vision to bring artisan quality and ancient wisdom back to Australian industry. All fabrics are sourced from Australian brands, and some pieces use cut offs from high fashion designer labels, lowering landfill severity the fashion industry has on mother Earth. The slow dyeing ritual stems from ancient Ayurvedic practice in which plant matter with medicinal properties were infused into fabrics. To allow the biggest organ (the skin) to come into contact with healing plant medicines capable of healing chronic illness and many other illnesses and skin conditions. Soltyslabel uses a variety of Ayurvedic plants and antioxidant Japanese flora in its signature print. Fusing wisdom from the east and west into a wearable garment for daily ritual practice.
Slow fashion is the future.
By purchasing a piece you are not only bringing the highest quality comfort and luxury forward, you are also taking part in a cultural evolutionary shift in response to the desperate cries of our planet Earth.
